Title and abstract

If you wish to submit a poster, please provide an abstract in English of 300 - 500 words (including references). To make the submission send an email to conference@iskouk.org using “Poster” and then the name of your project as the subject line. The closing date for the submission of poster abstracts or proposals is 26th April 2019.

This is a great opportunity for post-graduate students who want to share the results of their research, as well as for experienced researchers to test initial research ideas or to share their experience of research in progress.  We also welcome posters from practitioners trying out new approaches to knowledge organization in their workplaces.

Submission and presentation of posters

  • Posters should be submitted as a pdf version so that they can be published on the ISKO UK website.

  • Poster presenters must bring all of their material to the conference in physical format; the organizers cannot print or convert electronic submissions to posters, or otherwise create copy.

  • Posters will be displayed on Flipchart stands measuring 90cm high x 60cm wide.

  • Posters should be no larger than A1 in size (594 x 841 mm or 23.4 x 33.1 inches).

  • Posters should be a single large sheet, preferably A1, well designed, and information rich.

  • Simple downloads of PowerPoint presentations or web pages or sets of individual A4 sheets are discouraged.

  • You should ensure that the poster can be understood by delegates without the need for additional explanation. However, you can choose to provide supplementary handouts.

  • Posters should be clearly labelled with the poster title and author / contact details. These may be institutional contact details rather than personal addresses.

  • Clear typefaces should be used, and the recommended minimum is 24pt.

  • Use of colour, bold and larger typefaces is encouraged, as is the use of illustrative material, photographs, charts, etc.

Arrangements for display

  • Posters will be displayed in a common area for the entire two days of the conference.

  • The display boards will be available for use from 08:30 on the first day of the conference.

  • Ideally, posters should be on display by 10:00 on the first day.

  • Poster presenters should clear their boards by 17:30 on the final day.

  • Presenters should attend their posters during the poster presentation times as indicated in the programme – ideally at both coffee breaks on both days.

Publication of poster abstracts in the conference proceedings

Successful poster abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings providing they are received before 15th May 2019. Any abstracts not received by 15th May 2019 will not be included in the proceedings.

Arriving on the day

Please aim to arrive, with your poster, between 08:30 and 09:30 on Monday 15th July 2019. Maps and directions are available from https://www.city.ac.uk/about/campus-map.  The main entrance is marked ‘B’ on the map.

On arrival, please report to the registration desk where one of the conference team will show you the display space. On the morning of 15th July 2019 you will have the chance to give a brief introduction to your poster in a plenary session of the conference.

Thank you for your kind co-operation
